Suma Subramaniam is the author of the picture books Namaste Is a Greeting and She Sang for India. Her writing has appeared in The Hero Next Door, a collection of short stories from We Need Diverse Books. Suma holds an MFA in Writing from Vermont College of Fine Arts. Born in Bangalore, India, she now lives near Seattle, Washington.
JaNay Brown-Wood
JaNay Brown-Wood is an award-winning author, poet, educator and scholar. She is the author of Imani’s Moon, Amara’s Farm and Miguel’s Community Garden, among other books for young readers. JaNay is a professor of early childhood education at California State University. She lives with her family near Sacramento, California.
Robin Stevenson
Robin Stevenson is the award-winning author of nearly 30 books for kids and teens, many about the lives and histories of LGBTQ+ people. Her books have been translated into numerous languages and published in more than a dozen countries. Her book Pride was named a Stonewall Honor Book, and her novel Record Breaker won the Silver Birch Award. Robin lives on the west coast of Canada with her family.
Melanie Florence
Melanie Florence has been writing full time since 2010 and has written a bunch of books, but she’s probably best known for her picture books, Missing Nimama and Stolen Words, which won the 2016 TD Canadian Children’s Literature Award and the 2018 Ruth and Sylvia Schwartz Children’s Book Award respectively.#In her spare time, Melanie plays guitar, collects vinyl, listens to really loud rock music, gets tattoos and drinks too much coffee. She lives in Toronto with her family.
Robert Tinkler
Robert Tinkler is a writer, podcast producer and voice actor. He has worked on animated and live-action series for Disney, Netflix, PBS, Cartoon Network and Corus Entertainment. For his performance in the hit PBS series Cyberchase, he received a Daytime Emmy–Award nomination. Robert lives with his family in Toronto, Ontario.
