Biography
Valérie lives and works in Quebec City. After completing a bachelor’s degree in graphic design at Université Laval, she decided to devote her practice to illustration and digital printmaking. Her work has been published in numerous magazines and has been presented in various solo and collective exhibitions. She has illustrated six children’s books. Her first book, Le marchand de bêtises, won her the Prix Illustration Jeunesse in the Relève category, awarded by the Trois-Rivières Book Fair. Her second book, Un après-midi chez Jules, which she wrote and illustrated, won the Prix Cécile-Gagnon for the best children’s book by a debut author. Walking in the City with Jane is her first book published in English. Valérie loves to drink tea and work in her garden.
