Kathy Boake - Illustrator

After training as a traditional artist, Kathy started her illustration career painting and doing collage work. This segued well into the digital realm, where she now draws, paints and collages using Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator. Kathy grew up with a love for books, and for many years her criteria for choosing a book was one dictated by Alice: “'... what is the use of a book,' thought Alice, 'without pictures or conversations?'” --- Alice's Adventures in Wonderland Kathy's own children provided an excuse to collect and read beautifully illustrated and wonderfully written new books. When she was approached by children's magazines to work for them on a regular basis, she was well on her way to illustrating for children. Kathy looks forward to writing and illustrating her own books one day ... maybe for her grandchildren! She lives in White Rock, British Columbia, and when not at her desk Kathy can be found in her garden, sleuthing thrift shops or enjoying time with her family.
