October 31st, Halloween!

Where do you live?
In L'Acadie, about 30 minutes from Montreal.

Who is in your family?
My little girl and my boyfriend.

Do you have any pets?
Of course. I have a dog, a cat, a fish and all the things that my little girl brings me from outside, like bugs, butterflies, worms ...

What is your favorite book?
The last book I read, Life of Pi by Yann Martel was wonderful. I also really enjoyed The Lord of the Rings by Tolkien and Le parfum by Patrick Süskind.

What is your favorite movie?
I love to see movies from around the world, to discover other cultures.

What are your hobbies?
Gardening, reading, bicycling.

When did you start drawing?
Earlier than I can remember! My father was a painter and I used to draw with him in his studio.

What was your schooling or training?
I studied graphic design in Montreal.

What is the thing that you like the most about creating children's books?
Freedom! I think that children are easily led into fantasy, they love to be amazed. When I illustrate children's books, I feel young again!

Where do you work?
At home. I have a studio, an atelier --- a kind of little cottage --- in our backyard.

How do you create your artwork?
I paint with acrylics, on paper or on wood.

Do you have any tips for young creators?
Be yourself! It doesn't matter if you are different --- that's the only way to express perfectly what you want.

What is your favorite childhood memory?
When we went to our cottage in the Laurentians at Lac-des-Plages. We swam, fished and made campfires.

When you were little, what did you want to be when you grew up?
A veterinarian, but I'm afraid of blood. I also always wanted to be a painter.
