What kinds of books does Kids Can Press publish?

At Kids Can Press, we take pride in producing innovative and eye-catching picture books, entertaining and thought-provoking fiction, and curriculum-based non-fiction that opens children’s eyes to the world around them. Every season, we publish a diverse range of titles for children from birth to age 16.

How is Kids Can Press related to Corus Entertainment?

Kids Can Press became a Corus Entertainment division when the company purchased Nelvana in 2000. Corus Entertainment is a diversified media and entertainment company based in Canada. How do I search for books?

If you are looking for a specific book, you can search by book title, series name, author/illustrator name or ISBN in the “search” field located at the top of all pages.

To browse more generally, click on one of the category buttons located across all pages. Then you can continue to choose sub-categories to generate book lists based on your category selections.

Where do I find downloadable stickers, posters, learning materials and free activities and other Book Extras?

On each book detail page you will see a menu along the left side of the page. The content of this menu varies from title to title, depending on the “extras” that are available for each given book. Click on any item in the menu to view, listen or download a Book Extra.

If I am a teacher, librarian or bookseller, how do I schedule an author or illustrator event or appearance?

For bookstores, call 1–800–265–0884 and ask to speak to our publicist. For libraries and schools, call 1–800–265–0884 and ask to speak with our institutional marketing manager. All other inquiries can be sent via email to publicity@kidscan.com

How do I contact an author or illustrator?

Please send all correspondence for creators to Kids Can Press. Address the envelope to Kids Can Press and put the author or illustrator’s name on the bottom right-hand corner of the envelope. KCP will send the information along. Please understand that it is at the discretion of the author or illustrator to respond to your mail.

Do you offer free materials for booksellers, teachers and librarians?

Our website features a wide array of free materials related to many of our books. Materials such as posters, sticker pages, storytime activities, teaching ideas and activity pages can be easily downloaded and printed for use as required. Kids Can Press works closely with the directors of all publishing programs available in Canada to create intern positions that provide relevant experience in children’s book publishing.
