Scaredy Squirrel Makes the Cut for the Top 100 Picture Books of All Time
“I consider Scaredy Squirrel to be the only true 21st century picture book on this list ... Scaredy Squirrel is, to my mind, here today because it became an internet phenomenon,” says Elizabeth Bird at Fuse#8 Productions blog, hosted by Schoollibraryjournal.com. She recently challenged her readers and fellow bloggers to list their top picture books of all time. Kids Can Press is proud to have made it into the Top 50 with Scaredy Squirrel coming in at #46. This is a huge accomplishment for this neurotic nut, who finds himself in good company.

Leveled Reading Lists Now Available
In the continued effort to provide useful information for teachers and librarians on our website (www.kidscanpress.com), Kids Can Press has added leveled reading lists using commonly-used reading level literacy and intervention programs. Our books have been reviewed by reading specialists and assigned levels using the Fountas and Pinnell and Reading Recovery systems. The “Reading Lists” link can be found at the bottom of the kidscanpress.com home page. Reading levels are also included on the right side bar on each individual book detail page, but the new lists will make it easy for you to find the appropriate books you need to build your classroom library.
