Binky the Space Cat lifts off at Totsapalooza
On February 21st at the Revival Club in Toronto, Binky the Space Cat joined a celestial lineup of children’s authors and entertainers for this year’s Totsapalooza: The Space Age Rodeo Edition. Now in its second year, Totsapalooza brings together young children and provides them with an afternoon of readings, crafts and music. In between musical acts and crafts, Kids Can Press editor Tara Walker brought Binky to life with a lively reading to a sold-out crowd of over 500 children and parents, including Barenaked Ladies bassist, Jim Creeggan. Totsapalooza was presented by Small Print, an organization which runs literary programs for children and teens in the Toronto area.

— Discover magazine’s blog “Bad Astronomy” review of Evolution |

My favourite KCP book is The Imaginary Garden
“ The Imaginary Garden inspires, informs, and educates through meaningful text and rich, expressive illustrations. There are many ways to use and share the beauty of this stellar picture book. As a bookseller, I recommend it to teachers because it can be used as a springboard for creative Math and Botany units. I recommend it to parents and grandparents because it sensitively addresses the connections shared between generations. A gem.”
